Uniting for Our Neighbors
Today, a neighbor went home with less from a food bank. A family had to choose between dinner and rent. A friend lost access to healthcare.
Due to government cuts to public programs and services, one in eight San Diegans is facing economic hardship, including:
- 400,000 at risk of losing healthcare
- 100,000 could lose food assistance
- $300M in cuts to local services
The San Diego Unity Fund brings community resources together to help keep families housed, fed and healthy. Join us to help accelerate assistance for families in need.

Letters of Intent (LOIs) – Paused
Due to the strong response and the level of need reflected in the funding requests we have received, we have reached capacity for the amount of funding currently available through the Unity Fund. As a result, the Unity Fund Grantmaking Committee is pausing new LOI submissions.
United for San Diego
United for San Diego represents an unprecedented partnership among three of San Diego’s largest foundations – Prebys Foundations, Price Philanthropies and San Diego Foundation – and the Price family.
Recognizing the economic hardship facing many San Diego children and families because of deep cuts to publicly funded safety net programs, these funders have increased their combined annual giving by $70 million and are aligning giving strategies to help support basic needs and keep critical community resources afloat.
San Diego Unity Fund and United for San Diego are separate initiatives that support a similar goal: to ensure local families continue to thrive, especially those reliant on local safety net programs supporting food security, housing stability and healthcare access.
Donate through San Diego Unity Fund, held and administered by SDF, to join United for San Diego partners in responding to San Diego’s urgent, emerging needs.
