Expanded Learning
Research shows that time outside of the classroom is nearly as important to a young person’s development and learning as traditional school time. Out-of-school time learning, or expanded learning, can help to address gaps and inequities in our traditional school systems and has proven to help address the pandemic’s impacts on learning and social-emotional well-being.
Programs & Initiatives
Level Up SD
Launched in summer 2021, Level Up SD is an ongoing partnership with San Diego Unified, California’s second largest school district, to reimagine summer learning with extraordinary academic and enrichment programming for San Diego Unified students.

County Expanded Learning Program
Launched in 2022, the County Expanded Learning Program will supplement expanded learning programming with a focus on math and literacy skills in school districts throughout San Diego County, with an emphasis on North, East and South County students.

Black InGenius Initiative
This partnership with the University of San Diego School of Leadership and Education Sciences is a college access program for Black students in the region, and will create a teaching and learning center focused on serving neurodivergent students.
