Happy Holidays!

2017 has been a good year for the Carlsbad Charitable Foundation (CCF). CCF was recently honored for ten years of service in Carlsbad at the State of the City Luncheon on August 18. In addition, at the Carlsbad City Council Meeting on November 7, our very own founding member Knox Williams shared the impact of CCF with local leaders and presented on the difference we are making in our local Carlsbad community.

Membership Mixer

We had a successful Fall Membership Mixer on September 19 at The Landings at Carlsbad. The event focused on strengthening the relationship between business and philanthropy in Carlsbad. Roy Inzunza of Hoehn Motors shared why they are a CCF member and we heard from past grantee Trauma Intervention Programs of San Diego about the impact of our grant.  We are thankful to The Landings at Carlsbad, Trauma Intervention Programs of San Diego and Hoehn Motors for making this a memorable night.

Stay tuned for more information on our next member event (February 2018) where we will focus on our Under 40 memberships.

Member Spotlight

Congratulations to our NCPC Volunteer of the year and Board Member Shari Freeman. Shari is passionate about making Carlsbad a great place to live, work and play. She has gone above and beyond to make the grants process smooth and impactful. She is thoughtful in her approach, has a true heart of service and has leveraged her nonprofit expertise to help deepen CCF impact. We are proud of her and her accomplishments. Thank you Shari!

Spread the Word

We are in the midst of our 11th grant cycle and CCF is inviting San Diego County nonprofits serving and impacting the residents of Carlsbad to submit an application for projects that provide health and human services with an emphasis on stopping the cycle of poverty and homelessness for individuals, youth and families. The Grants Committee recently held a Grantseekers Forum on November 16 to discuss the 2018 grant cycle and answer questions. The grant application deadline is coming up on January 8, so please share the news with your networks.

Lastly, there is still time to start volunteering for our Grants, Events and/or Membership Committee if you are interested in getting more involved with CCF. As always, please follow us on Facebook for the latest updates and postings about CCF.

Wishing you an enjoyable holiday season.

Sincerely,

Catherine M. Magaña
