March 30, 2021 – San Diego, CA – The San Diego Foundation today announced it has established the For the Girls Fund to support local nonprofits aiding hundreds of unaccompanied migrant girls who have been arriving in San Diego since March 27, 2021.
In times of great emergency, community foundations are uniquely positioned to put their philanthropic leadership and deep, cross-sector relationships with trusted community partners to work for those in need.
Funds will be used to provide assistance to the girls, including flexible emergency support and funds for the girls’ emerging needs.
