“Living well” can have many meanings depending on who you ask, but the one common thread is that all of us strive to create a strong quality of life for ourselves and those around us.
For the County of San Diego, the idea of living well means supporting healthier communities and residents, prioritizing safety within the region’s neighborhoods, and ensuring a thriving San Diego by cultivating opportunities for all people and areas to grow, connect and enjoy the highest quality of life.
These are the key themes of the County’s Live Well San Diego initiative, which presents a unified vision for the region to build better health, live safely and thrive.
The San Diego Foundation is one of the most recent organizations to join this movement that engages partners from all sectors –government, business, schools, faith-based and community organizations.
To date, more than 130 organizations have signed on to Live Well San Diego, which allows different entities to work together to plan and implement innovative projects that progress the overall mission.
In addition to the shared namesake, Live Well San Diego aligns perfectly with The San Diego Foundation’s own WELL framework – Work, Enjoy, Live, Learn. Based on the priorities identified in Our Greater San Diego Vision, The Foundation invests in programs that help improve the quality of life in key areas, such as youth education, access to the outdoors and disaster preparedness.
Now, thanks to Live Well San Diego, there is an army of leaders and organizations in the region reaching for the same goal.
As thegreat leader Henry Ford once said, “If everyone is moving forward together, then success takes care of itself.”
Don’t be left out. Encourage your company to start living well, or get involved with The Foundation’s efforts to improve the quality of life in San Diego.
