AANHPI Fund 2025 Grant Cycle Youth Mental Health

This grant supports projects and programs focused on well-being for Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) youth and young adults, ages 15-24, while providing and destigmatizing access to mental and behavioral health services utilizing culturally responsive and trauma-informed practices. Application deadline is Friday, April 18, 2025, at 5:00 p.m. PDT.

$14 million Available to Housing Developers

San Diego Foundation is excited to announce a new funding opportunity for developers! San Diego Foundation (SDF), in partnership with the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG), will distribute approximately $14 million in State of California REAP 2.0 funds to support the development of equitable, sustainable and community-focused housing. San Diego Foundation will issue approximately $11.5 million via 3% revolving loans between $1 million and $3 million, and $2.5 million in grants between $1 million and $2.5 million, totaling approximately $14 million via a competitive application process.

The REAP 2.0 Funding Application is open to developers meeting certain eligibility requirements and will accept applications until May 2, 2025, at 2 PM PDT. If you are an eligible developer, we encourage you to apply for this valuable opportunity to provide critical housing resources to San Diegans. Events & Development Opportunities

  • The HIVE, a Leichtag Foundation Initiative, holds in-person and virtual workshops for nonprofits. Workshop topics range from effective leadership to strategic approaches to media relations. Learn more about its professional development opportunities here.
  • Nonprofit Solutions holds several workshops that help nonprofit employees learn, connect and grow. In-person and virtual workshops are offered. Learn more about its upcoming events and workshops here.
  • CANDID Learning holds a series of free online workshops for nonprofit employees at all stages and experiences of their careers. You can search through training opportunities here.
  • San Diego State University offers a 6-week course on starting a nonprofit. The course is supplemented with useful checklists, worksheets, reading lists and field trips to a wide variety of online resources. The course is $147 and has various start dates.
  • The San Diego Public Library offers a wide range of free highly interactive and instructor-led online courses. Courses run for six weeks and new sessions begin every month. You must be a library card holder in good standing to enroll.
  • Nonprofit Learning Lab is a national nonprofit that trains leaders in the nonprofit sector and offers daily online nonprofit training on various subjects.
  • Nonprofit Ready offers hundreds of free professional development resources, including courses and certificates on fundraising, grant writing, starting a nonprofit, finance, engagement, marketing and human resources.
  • Listen4Good helps nonprofits gather and analyze feedback from program participants, volunteers, community or staff to help with fundraising, strategic decision-making and advancing goals. Participating organizations receive 1:1 coaching support, group learning and a core web application for participatory measurement that drives impact.

10 Other Funding Opportunities

  1. NBCUniversal, a corporate partner of Silicon Valley Community Foundation, will award nearly $2.5 million in unrestricted funds to eligible nonprofits in August. NBCUniversal Local Impact Grants will be for general operating support, supporting nonprofits in 11 regions: Boston, Bay Area, Chicago, Connecticut, Dallas-Fort Worth, New York, Philadelphia, San Diego, South Florida, Southern California and Washington DC. Grant categories include Next Generation Storytellers, Youth Education & Empowerment, and Community Engagement. Click here to learn more and apply.   2. The Children’s Partnership is excited to announce the release of a Request for Proposals (RFP) for a research project focused on understanding the economic, social and political challenges faced by families of color with young children (prenatal to age 3) in California. We are seeking proposals from qualified research firms or consultants to design and conduct a survey that will provide critical insights into the unique struggles of these families, with particular emphasis on immigrant communities.   3. The Waitt Foundation is accepting applications for their Rapid Ocean Conservation (ROC) Grants Program. ROC grants provide small grants with a quick turnaround time for solutions to emerging conservation issues. Deadline: Rolling.
  4. The California Wellness Foundation is accepting Letters of Interest for their Advancing Wellness Grant Program. The foundation supports nonprofit organizations that are addressing urgent needs people are facing in their communities. Specifically, the focus is on low-income communities, people of color, youth, immigrants and residents of rural areas. Deadline: Ongoing.
  5. The Richard and Jean Coyne Family Foundation is accepting inquiries from educational institutions and nonprofit trade organizations that help economically disadvantaged high school students develop portfolios to qualify for admission to art school and provide college scholarships for them to study graphic design, advertising, photography and illustration. Deadline: Ongoing.
  6. U.S. Bank Foundation is accepting Letters of Interest for their Community Possible Grant Program. U.S. Bank Foundation supports organizations and programs that advance the following funding priorities:
    • WORK – Workforce Education and Economic Prosperity
    • HOME – Neighborhood Stability and Revitalization
    • PLAY – Artistic and Cultural Enrichment, Learning Through Play and Preserving, Protecting and Enhancing Outdoor Places to Play

  7. The W.K. Kellogg Foundation accepts applications at any time from organizations whose projects or proposals align with their three areas of focused work: thriving children, working families, and equitable communities. Deadline: Rolling.
  8. The Pollock-Krasner Foundation is accepting applications from artists for their Pollock-Krasner Foundation grant for individual artists. Pollock-Krasner grants have enabled artists to create new work, purchase needed materials, pay for studio rent and their personal expenses. Deadline: Rolling.
  9. The Parker Foundation is accepting applications from nonprofit organizations that provide services that improve the lives of people throughout the San Diego region. Deadline: Rolling.
  10. American Humane’s Second Chance grant offers public and private animal sheltering agencies and rescue groups financial assistance to help offset the costs of rescuing animals who are homeless or victims of human cruelty. Nonprofits that focus on animal rights and rescue are encouraged to submit proposals. Deadline: Ongoing.
