October 23, 2024 – Oceanside, CA – Oceanside Community Foundation (OCF), a regional affiliate of San Diego Foundation (SDF), today announced the availability of grant funding to support young people’s independence through personal and professional development.

OCF will be accepting proposals for projects preparing young people, ages 16-25, for independence by developing basic life and employment skills.

“Many Oceanside youth and their families are facing unprecedented pressures and challenges as they mature. We seek nonprofit organizations committed to helping support these young people and prepare them for a successful future,” said David Nydegger, OCF 2024-2025 board chair. “This could include job skills, financial literacy, social and emotional wellness, internships and work placement for youth ages 16 to 25.”

These projects should be achievable within a 12-month time frame and have prospects for long-term sustainability. Projects that are achievable with funding from $10,000 to $25,000 are encouraged. Proposals must be submitted online no later than 5 p.m. on Nov. 27, 2024. Grant guidelines including directions on how to register and apply can be accessed at SDFoundation.org/apply.

Since 2009, OCF has granted more than $1 million to over 75 programs that help grow a more vibrant community, so the current and next generation of Oceanside residents have a place they are proud to call home.
