June 26, 2018 – San Diego, CA – The San Diego Foundation Board of Governors announced today that Kathlyn Mead is no longer Chief Executive Officer and President of The San Diego Foundation.

Mead was named CEO in July 2014. Previously, she was Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at The California Endowment.

The CEO transition will be managed by The San Diego Foundation Board of Governors. Vice Chair and Board Secretary Kay Chandler will voluntarily serve as Interim CEO during the short-term transition. Immediate Past Chair Connie Matsui will voluntarily serve thereafter as Interim CEO until a permanent CEO and President is identified. Board member Cliff Schireson will serve as Chief Operating Officer. Constance Carroll will continue to serve as Board Chair. The CEO search process is currently being finalized.
