Allan Gamboa

Senior Manager, Community Impact

Allan serves as a Senior Manager within the Community Impact team and supports efforts to advance health equity and improve the health and well-being of children and families across the region.

Allan comes with a decade of experience in direct community health center work and health programming. Prior to joining San Diego Foundation, Allan was a Program Director at the Association of Asian Pacific Community Health Organizations and had a special focus on addressing barriers and improving the health of under-resourced communities disproportionately burdened with diabetes. He also served in different leadership capacities within federally qualified health centers as an Associate Clinic Director for the Family Health Centers of San Diego and Clinic Supervisor for La Clinica de La Raza in Oakland, Calif., where he oversaw clinic operations, strengthened community partnerships, and built out the first school-based eye clinic in the San Francisco/Bay Area.

Allan holds a Masters of Science in Healthcare Administration and Interprofessional Leadership from the University of California, San Francisco, and a Bachelors of Science in Public Health Science from the University of Irvine, California.
